Starting in 2022, Idaho lawmakers have passed legislation that forces healthcare providers to choose between legal requirements and medically indicated care, especially with reproductive health and the treatment of minors. Doctors and other clinicians may face fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of the medical licenses if they put the medical standards of care ahead of Idaho’s laws. We work everyday to remove legal barriers for provision of—and access to—standard, evidence-based healthcare.

Like many of Idaho’s lawmakers, we believe in freedom and personal responsibility. That’s why we provide real patient stories, data, and insights to support policies that will create an environment that retains and recruits clinicians to Idaho.

The relationship between a patient and a provider is sacred. In many cases, HIPAA provides legal protection for important conversations, but many proposed and enacted laws limit the confidentiality of these relationships and open them to legal scrutiny. This inhibits the exchange of some of the most sensitive information between patients and providers, resulting in less complete—and more dangerous—medical care.
